This new computer is overheating during intense gaming sessions.

I own a brand new PC and it’s running well for gaming titles like Diablo 4, Fallout 76, Cyberpunk. The CPU temps sit between 90-100°C during intense sessions, while browsing or watching videos stays around 38-40°C. Most other games such as Destiny 2 or 7 Days to Die reach 65-75°C. I’m unsure if these high temps are fixable or if it’s best to send it back. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It was a pre-built PC, so I expected that. Not sure if inspecting it would affect any warranties.

They likely have around 100+ case fans, and they all blow in the same direction.

Begin by removing the unnecessary MSI add-ons from your operating system. For monitoring, consider using HWinfo. Your temperatures seem quite interesting given your 13900KF and the fact you’re running games in the 60s or 70s. Your 420mm Arctic should be close enough. Check your BIOS settings to confirm no overclocking has been applied by experienced users, reset it back to defaults, and update the firmware. Disable Multi-core enhancement and run a test with Cyberpunk. If temperatures remain high, investigate the AIO and troubleshoot accordingly.

From what I see, the three on the right perform best, while the other three lag behind. I’m assessing this based on their temperature—those on the right are warm, and the rest are cooler.

The bios updates set cyberpunk and Diablo 4 temperatures between 66 and 80, averaging around 72. It could be a fix—just check tomorrow since it’s still early.

oh and another side issue. sometimes when i'm playing something and watching a yt/stream on my second screen the pc will freeze then reboot. both this issue and the temp one never happened with my old pc that was half the power of this one. so idk what to do

It makes sense if you upgraded the BIOS and noticed cooler temperatures. The previous version likely adjusted settings to boost performance or bypass Intel's default restrictions, which were then restored during the update.

Cyberpunk and Diablo 4 are back above 90, while the rest of the games stay under 75. The PC remains unchanged throughout.
