This MSI Pulse 17 B13V keyboard is malfunctioning—should I request a refund or arrange a repair?
Hi everyone, I really hope someone more tech-inclined than me can help me figure out what to do. A bit of an intro before the actual question: I bought this laptop on amazon.es at only 1449€, which is a GREAT price here in europe considering the specs on this thing (i7-13700h and a 4070). The price was 100% a mistake by Amazon, in fact they corrected it after just 5 minutes and the price is now 1799€. The keyboard of my laptop has been acting up since the 1st day I bought it. The keys P, 8 (on the numpad) and the up-arrow key start to freak out randomly during normal use (atm they're working fine, but just half an hour ago the key 8 was totally unresponsive and the letter P would instead tipe ",HPLOK" while also inputting ALT, CTRL and other keys all at the same time). I immediately contacted the Amazon customer service but they're refusing to give me a replacement, they're just offering a full refund or I can send it in for repair. Looking on the website I found this thread: where the guy says that the issue was a screw touching the motherboard, which sounds super concerning to me, but again, I'm not a tech guru. I already tried removing all the screws from the laptop (except the one that would invalidate my warranty) but the issue still presents itself, so maybe the screw is inside the chassis (meaning I can't reach it) or it may be another issue alltogether. Now, I can ask for a refund and fall back on my old Rog Strix with a 9750h-1660ti which is still working fine, BUT I'm afraid I'd be stuck with it for a while now since I don't think I'll see another deal like the one I got before black friday, or maybe not even then. Sending the laptop for repair could be an option but having the PC repaired after less than a week of use sounds like a big gamble to me... What would you do in my position? Should I ask for a refund, stick with my old laptop and wait to see if something else comes up OR send it in for repair and hope for the best? Please help me choose as I am really struggling in taking a position regarding this matter. Mandatory disclaimer as english is not my first language and I may have made some mistakes here and there. PS: I already tried a clean install, restoring and re-installing all the drivers, but again, this issue was presenting itself since the first bootup as I had issues even while I was inputting the windows license key.
