Hello. I can help clarify this. Your setup includes an MSI B450M mortar max motherboard, a Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, and the F4-3600C18D-16GTZR RAM. The GSKILLs Trident Z RGB 3600 is a compatible RAM option for your configuration. Just confirm everything fits in your build and let me know if you need further details. This is your first project, so feel free to ask!
But you can definitely use it now. You placed an order for a 3200MHz model, but it came out as 3600MHz. Since you don’t play AAA games, that’s fine. You’re just using your PC for school purposes.
Sure thing! You should probably run at 3600 MHz and see how it goes. If that doesn’t work, try lowering it back to 3200 MHz. It’s possible it might settle around 3466 MHz. You’ll find out by experimenting.
Thanks a lot! I’m happy to run it at 3200mhz—it’s a speed I can handle well. Appreciate the quick reply!
Unless it says specifically made for AMD, it's all XMP profile that was tested on/for Intel platforms. However you can review the memory QVL list, but tends to lack being updated through time. So the memory list is from pre release testing of the board.
I tested my R5 3600 with an A320M board and it worked fine on my PC. Upgrading to the B450 will change things, but since it functioned on the A320M board, it should work on your B450M board too. My MSI A320M-A Pro is the last one I own, and now I have a B450M Mortar Max.
It isn't listed on the QVL but functioned properly with my Ryzen 5 3600 using an A320M board.
