Hey all, kind of a weird one…. In Cinebench R23, Ryzen Master and other programs only show my cpu usage as 4 core 8 thread instead of 8 core 16 thread like it should be. But the task manager resource monitor shows all 8 active? R23 benchmark scores are half what they should be (7000+ pts instead of 14000+ pts), so it does seem like only 4 are working. In Ryzen Mater advanced mode it will let me set all 8 clock speeds but when I click test the bottom 4 cores just show as ‘sleep’. CPU has never been over clocked, only undervolted to 4600GHz at 1.25v maximum limits so it runs cooler (bios confuses me hence ryzen master lol). I’ve tried resetting Ryzen Master, running R23 with stock CPU clock, disable all startup apps (all with reboots in between), power plan is on ‘high performance’, windows boot settings cpu cores are on 8, not too sure what else to try. I’m updating BIOS later (all the usb sticks I’ve brought over the years and I don’t have one here lol). My system has just seemed sluggish for the past few months like it is actually only running 4 cores. Anything else I can try or any other diagnostic tools would be greatly appreciated. Only other thing I can think of is possible hardware fault, either CPU or motherboard? A BIOS reset and driver update didn’t solve the issue. After adjusting settings, re-seating the CPU, and doing some research, I set up a custom power plan in Windows as ‘high performance’ and turned off using 8 cores in boot settings. It seems to have fixed it temporarily, but I’m still unsure about the long-term effects. I wonder if changing the program’s settings or the boot configuration can affect how the system handles performance. It’s confusing, but I know what to check next time.
