The software didn’t function properly, it just behaved unpredictably... RMA probably comes into play.

I don't know what happened, turned on the PC today and it just suddenly works, might have been the firmware or just rando. My fan curve was 20 % spin all the time and then slow ramp up with the temp, my x570 chipset gets pretty toasty as EVGA is using a passive heatsink instead of a fan which is good because they are loud. The GPU fans at low RPM cools it pretty well. Did a Furmark test and yeah the fan speed matches the fan curve from MSI Afterburner, also no 0 FAN now. It works now the heck?

It seems the software handled the issue. The firmware will enhance the GPU's guidance and if there were concerns about the fans, they've been swapped with updated settings. Your initial reaction likely made sense—hope things settle down soon! Just stay hopeful for a few days to see if it stabilizes.
