The CPU meets the minimum requirement since 3.5 GHZ is higher than 3.3 GHZ.

It varies by CPU model. Those figures seem similar to a laptop processor, so performance can change based on the exact device. We lack sufficient details to provide a clear answer.

It's an i5 7300HQ with 8GB RAM and a GTX 1050. I'm able to run R6, but it occasionally freezes—this hasn't happened before.

Have you experimented with using an additional layer such as the one provided with Afterburner or GeForce Experience to identify which hardware part is being overused? One component might be the source of the issue, or it could stem from software factors.

Generally you're right about the requirements. It needs to function and meet expectations, not necessarily run without issues but with a minimum threshold to operate. If starting reliably at 3.5 is possible, that's my approach when everything else works. Otherwise, assess what you can achieve. You'll know the next steps if performance falls short or it doesn't work at all.

I've also attempted, but nothing appears unusual, all readings normal.

It operates smoothly at over 60 FPS, yet occasionally the frames disappear abruptly and the sound stops during play.
