This Live USB for PopOS on LG Gram 14Z980 isn't functioning properly.
Hello, I'm trying to load from a live USB on my LG gram. The USB drive isn't showing up as a bootable device (BIOS or F10 boot menu). I've used Rufus and Etcher for testing, and the Debian live USB works fine in both DD and ISO modes. My Windows install and LMDE5 are in GTP mode, and secure boot is turned off. Am I missing something in the setup process?
You often need to adjust your BIOS settings to activate UEFI or CSM. CSM refers to an older BIOS setup for previous systems. Secure boot is turned off, which is fine. Format your USB flash drive using FAT32. Use G-Parted on LMDE to remove existing partitions and begin a clean setup. Load the Live USB with Ventoy. While Rufus and Etcher work, I’ve had issues with both, so I avoid them. Ventoy is preferable since it lets you store several ISO images on one drive and test each without re-flashing. If you need support for both legacy CSM and UEFI, YUMI is an option but only available on Windows. It also formats the drive automatically. Ventoy is easier right now because it organizes files into a folder for easy drag-and-drop booting. Good luck!
