This laptop experiences frequent random restarts.
I assembled a new setup using a Ryzen 9 5900X and a Pro WS X570 Ace that had been unused for two years. The board is problematic—I need to restart it ten times before it boots. Once started, it reboots automatically after 0.5 to 5 minutes (or crashes). It seems the boot SSD isn’t being recognized. I’ve invested about 15 hours over the past two days trying to fix it with updated POS, new PCH drivers, BIOS updates, and NADA fixes. This isn’t a workstation anymore—it feels like a family of alcoholics in terms of reliability. What should I do?
It looks like the app is crashing frequently, only running for a short time before stopping. I’m really frustrated with this.
I don't possess another PC to generate the boot media. NOTED: I'll attempt it when possible, though I doubt success because the board frequently doesn't boot, fails to recognize my drive, or skips restarts in BIOS. Edited September 4, 2023 by Bean Cooling
Have you considered a backup PSU as an alternative? Insufficient power doesn't improve performance.
I checked to see if it would help, so I rearranged the 8-pin PCIe power connectors into different slots. It appears to have resolved the issue, though it might crash again soon. (Note: Seemed, it could fail within about 10 minutes.) My GPU is connected via a PSU with two cables and two connectors per cable, and the working configuration now places the first connector of the first cable on the left, followed by the second cable’s first connector, then the second cable’s second connector.
