Here is another test in GTA V. Sorry for the audio, I was on Discord and forgot it also records from there.
The repeat function (by holding the key down) makes the keyboard drivers act as if you were pressing keys one at a time. This is correct—I believe.
As shown in the video, the character doesn’t walk when I keep W pressed and doesn’t run when I double press W—“So to move quickly forward, you must press the key rapidly. One key, one step.” If I press two keys together, like W and A, the character moves normally at the end of the video.
I think this works for games where you need to spam a key to perform an action, such as attacking.
I mostly play CS:GO and sometimes other titles like GTA V, Cities Skylines, Assassin’s Creed…
In general, it seems there might be a problem with the keyboard and/or its drivers... It's unclear what else to recommend at this moment. I will transfer your thread to PC Gaming. The discussion has become a bit long, but I hope others will still read through and point out any mistakes or oversights on my part. There is a good chance someone else has faced a similar issue and fixed it.
