I waited a month for my order, only to find the new CPU damaged with a cracked box and bent pins. It was really disappointing. However, phones are good enough to capture close-up photos, which helped me pinpoint the problem. A craft knife fits perfectly into the gaps and straightens it out—now it works fine. I wanted to share the photos.

Insert a small card, similar to a library card, between the pins and lightly move it back and forth until the row aligns. Or return the CPU if that's simpler.

All set now any card looks like a solid choice too. The craft knife would fit nicely only if the pins were straight, which was a good sign about the pin condition. Putting it into the motherboard and not seeing it settle properly was frustrating.

The knife seems uncertain, so I'm holding back on cutting the green board, but overall you did a solid job either way! The Illinois driver's license is quite thick but functions well with older AMD AM3+ and earlier models. I've removed a few Ryzen chips before, which caused some issues like yours. Yes, it fits snugly in the socket even after repairs. Some pins appear slightly bent and aren't visible, and your 1200 sometimes needs a re-seat. It works, but you might need to re-clasp the locking mechanism gently while applying pressure to help it slide into place.

It was fortunate they weren't bent too much; things could have been worse. Please reach out to them and let them know about this.

I emailed the seller from the store where I bought it. The box you see here seems quite accurate.

Blade side up, I'm not a crazy person! No photo of fixed pins, but the single pin and the group look pretty much hidden from the rest. I don't think I'll be getting into this anytime soon. But I did lose my 4790k before this.

It's really frustrating for such a costly CPU (and rare) it doesn't meet expectations.

It's attached, so skip it unless you own a chiller and are comfortable with risk.

From this image I would decide to return right away.
