Hi there! I'm just getting started with this site, but I've been following the show for a while now. The 5k Intel upgrade series is great, and I'm curious about the best motherboard for an Intel i7-3770K with an RTX 2060. You're looking for good value, so I'd appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

With the i7 3770k, the top motherboard choices are P67 or Z77 models, which have been discontinued for about eight years. The only alternatives are used items from eBay, Amazon, Newegg, or local Facebook and Craigslist listings.

I don’t think there’s any good reason to put money into a broken setup. If you don’t already have a motherboard for the i7 3770k, it might be smarter to purchase a fresh one instead of spending on a CPU and RAM, since CPUs aren’t that costly after all.

Considering the Asus P8z77-v / pro might be a good fit. (Not LE) Upgrading to DDR4, a new CPU, and a fresh board opens up more possibilities. You can find decent z77 boards for about 50-75 dollars. Overclocking keeps performance solid at around 3770k. Similar to Ryzen first-gen models.
