The costs are elevated at the moment since it feels like a contribution. It seems the vessels won't offer much benefit once the game launches.
You can purchase the game and a ship for $35. The price offers good value. Earn credits to upgrade ships or simply take them when the game starts. You might also borrow a ship from another player. I previously bought very costly ships that never added real worth beyond their in-game status. For me, it’s about investing what I’d spend on this kind of game over the last ten years if they’d existed, to help revive the genre.
People often spend more than they realize. I invested in both the $80 325a and the $275 Constellation Andromeda packages. My reason was to help with development and the game's growth. Right now, we're focusing on backing up the project—without the original supporters it wouldn't be as strong as it is. Also, the Arena Commander $45 Aurora package seems like a smart choice. It includes a starter ship, the game, singleplayer content, and some in-game credits. A great deal for what could become a major AAA title, in my opinion. The amount you're willing to spend makes all the difference.
It costs $35 for a complete single-player experience, which should last at least 20 hours, plus the full multiplayer version.
