Disconnecting the HDD and booting into BIOS might show it missing or labeled differently. In this case, you should erase the SSD and reinstall the operating system. This time run the process without the HDD connected. When installing, format the HDD only; don’t have both OS drives active simultaneously unless needed. If your HDD has extra partitions, format the C drive (where your OS resides) and leave other partitions intact. With just one partition, you risk losing all data on that drive.
I included more details to my earlier message, check it out. You’ll need to shut down the PC, unplug the HDD, restart it, then check BIOS for the SSD. If you followed these steps and still face issues, it could mean the OS on your SSD isn’t functioning. I hope this is clear enough. I’m confident there’s a simpler way, but I’m not very good at explaining it.
However, formatting a drive would erase everything, including the Windows system, which might surprise you if this SSD isn’t a good fit. Maybe it’s better to simply disconnect the HDD and start over from there.
I encountered a problem where the system runs smoothly on an SSD but only works when booting with options, specifically pressing F11 first. Once I let it proceed normally, it switches between volume 2 and 4. I haven’t uninstalled Windows yet, so it still gets stuck choosing between those volumes. Only volume 2 seems to function correctly in that scenario.
Interesting. I’d consider clearing both storage units and beginning anew unless there’s a more favorable alternative available. That’s my decision.
Priority reset seems to be active, though no updates were saved. I encountered another issue with a black screen prompting for a reboot and boot device selection.
