This device keeps freezing despite being brand new.
I've just assembled a fresh system: AMD 7800x3d processor, 64GB G.SKILL Trident Z 6000MHz RAM, MSI MPG X670E carbon WiFi motherboard, AMD 7900X GPU, EVGA 1600W GPU, G2 Gold PSU. The only thing left from the old setup were two M.2 SSDs. This configuration keeps freezing constantly—whether I'm just browsing or running three games at once, the freezes happen regularly and aren't reproducible. Each time it freezes, it stalls for about five seconds before becoming completely unresponsive. No audio loops are present. I've observed that as it slows down, Wi-Fi drops too, though I'm not sure if that matters. Attempted solutions: used hwmonitor to verify CPU and GPU temperatures (CPU never hits 60°C, GPU stays under 75°C). Tried reseating RAM and GPU multiple times. Switched from a surge protector to a standard wall outlet. Ran a Windows refresh for a clean restart. Reinstalled drivers for CPU, motherboard, and GPU repeatedly. Performed diagnostics on memory and SSDs—no issues found. Disabled Expo and checked for error logs or memory dumps, but nothing appears as the system becomes unresponsive. I'm really struggling to find a fix.
I noticed a Windows refresh, possibly leaving behind leftover files and settings. Would you like me to perform a full reinstall?
Check for updates to the latest stable BIOS version instead of the beta release.
Update BIOS to the most recent stable release first. Save your files and perform a clean Windows reinstall. Ensure the CPU cooler is placed correctly and seated firmly, and position the GPU in the top PCIe slot, not the bottom one. Check one RAM stick initially, then both. If issues persist, consider returning the PSU or motherboard.
Launch the event viewer. Navigate to windows logs -> system. Apply filters for errors and critical issues. Ensure results are ordered by time. Capture a screenshot of the displayed information.
