Hey there! I noticed your PC worked well until this morning. After doing some schoolwork, it stopped responding when you turned it on. The CPU fan was running but didn’t emit a beep. Here are the specs: AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800, 2GB DDR2 RAM, WD Caviar Blue 500GB HDD, and a generic 450W PSU. You have it due tomorrow and can’t wait to get a new one. Let me know if you need help!
remove the cooler and check if the CPU is overheating or just cold. I think it might be related to VRMs or a socket problem—no beep usually means the system is dead. If you really can't afford a new build, consider buying a cheap 2-core system from a marketplace like Facebook Marketplace.
Avoid spending a lot on outdated technology; opt for a newer prebuilt model around 50 dollars. For immediate needs, purchase a basic 10-20 core 2 machine available on platforms like Facebook Marketplace.
Luck was with me when I discovered a Core 2 Duo for just $20! I’m excited to get it. It’s a Dell Optiplex 755.
In that case you problably dont need to buy the c2d system I suggest buying a pci debug card also marketed as pc analyzer for 3$ to see whats actually wrong with your current rig, if cpu is cold id suspect vrms dead and 00 cause no power to the cpu, but if its still warm could be something else, great for troubleshooting and overclocking But if your mobo isnt fixed by a simple dunking in water then its too far gone anyways so just take off its heatsinks (careful not to crack the chipset), cmos battery, clear cmos and press powerbutton for 2 mins, then give it a dunk in water, usually takes a day or 2 to dry. If that dont revive it then id consider it too far gone, stuff that age tend to have irreperable issues. Besides a core 2 will crush an athlon 64
