Core 2 quad q9650 may cause a bottleneck with the R9 270. You're planning to run several games including GTA 5, Star Wars Battlefront 2, Tekken 7, COD WWII, FIFA 18, Forza Motorsport 7, Far Cry 5, and Trials Fusion. You also mentioned you can overclock it.

I know these games are going to put a strain on your CPU. Battlefield 2 and Far Cry 5 are quite demanding for processing power. Even with a 3570k at 4.4 GHz, it would be tough to keep 60 frames per second in Battlefield 1, especially during intense moments. Battlefield 2 uses the same engine as the others, so the issue is similar. I ran at 1440p, but that mainly increased GPU load rather than CPU usage.

It applies to Forza Games too; FH3 reaches its 3570K at 4.6ghz, even with a 7850 chip, and it's mostly unplayable without a solid CPU even on a 1080Ti.
