Your setup shows inconsistent performance across different setups. The TP-LINK AV1000 delivers lower speeds when using the included Wi-Fi adapter, while a wired connection gives much higher throughput. Since your wired connection already provides 214 Mbps, it’s likely the issue lies elsewhere—possibly with the adapter or router configuration. Consider testing another quality powerline adapter to see if that improves speeds. If not, you may want to return the device and explore alternatives for better wireless performance.

Powerline adapters perform differently based on your home's wiring. Many only provide 10/100 Ethernet ports, making speeds above that unattainable even with good connections. I've experienced poor results with them; they rarely deliver reliable performance compared to Wi-Fi.

It varies based on the adapter placement. Powerline isn't meant to pass through multiple circuits, so positioning them differently can cause significant speed drops or total failure.
