I'm looking for ways to monitor the CPU VRM temperature on your AsRock H310M-HDV motherboard, but I couldn't locate any resources for it.

It seems you're looking for the name of something you've tried before, but aren't sure what it is. Could you provide more details or clarify your question?

Capture the image. On Ryzen it's referred to as VRMod or VRMMos.

You don’t have VRM temperature sensors. The unit is meant for auxiliary sensors such as PSU or other external devices. The 100c figure has no relevance.

on hwmonitor you see tmpin3, and during stress tests the cpu gets hot to 65, some sources say this could be a vrm sensor on certain mb boards

That's the most likely VRM temperature reading. The accuracy depends on the algorithm, so I'd accept a ±10% range. Do you have an infrared thermometer?

I don't have it, but checking the temperatures again shows the temporary temperature matches the CPU package reading.

The VRM and CPU temperature sensors are positioned together or very near each other, situated between the CPU and VRMs on the main board. This component is external to the CPU.

I didn't realize that, I tried another approach, and I'll share the findings.
