I can't use a wired link, so I thought about getting a Wi-Fi 6 chip but I'm unsure it would slow down my PCIe lanes. My setup includes a 1080 and an M.2 SSD; adding a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth card might cause a bottleneck. I have a 2700X and an X470 gaming PC.

As long as it's placed in a PCI_e x1 port, it shouldn't affect the data speed of your other gadgets. Probably, you skipped checking the manufacturer's guide.

Ensure your GPU is placed in the proper PCIe slot, typically the top one. This slot (and often a M.2 slot) provides direct connections to the CPU. Other slots link to the chipset, which then routes them to the CPU's lanes. If everything uses slots that connect through the chipset, performance won't be limited. For clarity, refer to the B550 layout; most systems follow a similar pattern.
