The B550-F is a solid board, while the Pro AC is what I currently own. Some problems have been reported with Aorus pro boards concerning Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB connections, as well as USB cutouts (though others say these disappear in newer BIOS versions like F12). Still, similar issues have been seen on other models such as the B550-E, which is something to keep in mind. It's also important to remember that for many users, these problems might resolve when switching from PCIE to Gen 3 (especially with newer GPUs like the RTX 3000) or by turning off global C-states and/or manual RAM overclocking instead of XMP. Other suggestions suggest it could be an AMD/Agesa concern rather than a fixable issue by Gigabyte or similar manufacturers. On the flip side, I haven't tested the B550-F yet, but it was my first pick. When I noticed more USB ports on the AC and some people favor the heatsinks, it performed well for me—voltages and clocks stayed stable on my 5600X, and I haven’t seen any VRM problems (though running at stock is probably not a big difference). I’m using a Micron-E die 16 3600MHz RAM with XMP support, even though QVL isn’t available (new SKU from December), but that’s not particularly impressive. Also, it feels quite similar to other models in the vengeance lineup. Edit: Regarding Wi-Fi, it’s sufficient for me; unfortunately, I can only operate at 2.4GHz, so I can’t compare it to my 5GHz Asus AC86 USB dongle—but I reach the speeds my provider expects.

Thanks for the feedback. WiFi-6 definitely boosts connection and speed when your router supports it. Since my provider’s location has a router with WiFi-6 but it’s not in my apartment, I’ve seen some improvement. The damage to the MoBo doesn’t seem to affect it much, and I’ve tested it myself. The difference isn’t massive, but gaming on WiFi is already rough due to lag, so I’d rather avoid going back to WiFi-5. I haven’t heard any problems with Gigabyte or ASUS boards, which is unusual—I’ll keep an eye on that. I’m definitely pushing overclocking, and Star Citizen is really tough on performance. I aim for the highest safe voltages with good air cooling to keep temperatures down while still getting solid results.

I don't own the Wi-Fi board, but the F is excellent. The board feels solid with ample RAM and no issues with voltage or cooling. The 3600 C12-4400 C16 model definitely delivers strong performance—perfect for someone just starting out.

I noticed the Aorus Pro gets a lot of praise and that’s why I think it stands out as the top choice compared to ASUS. I’d definitely choose the V2 if they offered a WiFi board. It’s essential for me since add-on WiFi-6 cards are really costly and USB adapters usually have weak signals. Having WiFi built-in on the board is clearly my preference. Fortunately, the ASUS board matches its performance in overclocking compared to the Aorus Pro. I really enjoy BuildZoid, but it seems the ASUS board is the better path.

I’ll mention that with my 5900X pushing as intense an overclock as I can handle (4.8GHz all-core at 1.37V), I only consume around 160-175W, which is quite impressive in terms of efficiency.

It's definitely the 6800-XT that creates the power challenge, not the CPU itself. This pattern repeats across most standard desktop builds using regular processors. Desktop CPUs aren't that demanding. The 6800-XT, however, consumes power almost like an RTX 3080, possibly even more so when pushed. There are reports it can draw around 400 watts at full overclock. This latest GPU model seems to guzzle energy like it needs water. Still, the big performance boost might justify handling the most demanding cards we've seen over many generations. You might be able to get a bit further with the 5900X, and some users have logged 200 watts—so pushing a little more could work. 4.8 All-Core performance is decent, but for gaming it's better to use Precision Boost Overdrive offset overclocking. It helps keep those cores above 5GHz when needed. I'm a bit concerned about the voltage readings, though. PBO doesn't seem to enforce safe voltages, and even my 3700X often exceeds 1.45V.

The EVGA CLC 280 with two NH-A14s at full speed struggles to maintain temperatures at 1.4V or above for sustained use, which isn't ideal for a stable CB R23 run. I keep a manual overclock setting for all cores since I mine Monero locally—no power bills here! My 1.34V at 4.7GHz all-core setup handles Ethereum hashes much better than my 1050ti, so I’ll go with it. Once I finish working on crypto, I’ll push it higher with PBO; it really performs well.
