This ASRock Z77E-ITX may fail to boot even when you expect it to work.
I got an ASRock Z77E-ITX which I have in my NAS. This has worked very well, and I have had an uptime for about 30 days without any issues at all. However, when I tried rebooting it, it would not send any video signal, and it would not boot. But the fans are running, but no picture and no boot (I can check that the NAS is offline). I cannot figure out what does this. I have reset CMOS multiple times, I have tried default settings in BIOS, I have tried different BIOS-versions. At first I thought it was a RAM issue, but as it does run perfectly when it is booted, this should not be it. And also I tried booting with just one of the RAM sticks, no success. I manage to make it boot again by unplugging the power cable and waiting for a couple of hours, then it will boot. Next I thought this was an issue with the ASRock board requiring a display to be able to boot. This isn't the issue, I have tried with a display hooked up, it won't boot (no signal). And I also tried with a HDMI-spoofer, which fools the motherboard to tell it that a display is hooked up. Any ideas what can be the issue?
