I attempted to increase the RAM in your ThinkPad e14 Gen 2, but the display goes dark, the power button flashes and shuts off repeatedly. Replacing it with the original RAM didn’t resolve the issue. Please consider checking for hardware faults or consulting a professional repair.

It's still useful to reset the main battery to set the CMOS, though this might vary between Lenovo and HP models.

Typically it's a firmware or BIOS lock, so the safest approach is to check the QVL part number and look for it used online.
