I was just enjoying the usual gameplay and searching for hidden spots, but until the Asylum... it felt really unsettling. I stopped playing right after less than two minutes into the level. I truly want to complete the game and follow the story, but it terrifies me. I don’t usually play horror titles, though I think the thriller game I played was HF2 and its episodes. I also looked up the creepy Asylum level online—there was talk of a dark lady... I hadn’t seen her yet, but now that I learned about it, my fear grows. I bought Thief on sale for 80% on Steam a few days ago and started playing two days later, but my download speed is very slow.
2Spooky4Me Just play through it m8. I have played tonnes of horror games, but for some reason. I always get more scared, nervous, and uncomfortable at stealth games like Splinter Cell Blacklist. I don't know why.
That part really caught me off guard, but I managed to make it through.
It started off a little unsettling, but soon it stopped feeling so scary. When you understand there are no real dangers, the fear fades away. The cradle in Thief 3 was much more intense since it featured actual enemies. There are also some eerie levels in Thief 1 and 2 that are pretty impressive, particularly the one where you steal the eye for the first time.
If you've just started playing, it can feel quite unsettling. This level is expertly designed to gently encourage bowel movements. I'm not sure what everyone is saying about it. There are some enemies in the area that aren't fully alive or dead yet, but they're still approaching you instead of flying across the screen to loud music! Really creepy characters.
