They power up, but nothing happens afterward.
Recently I experienced a problem where my computer wouldn’t start up. I’ve been trying to identify the precise reason but haven’t managed to find a solution on my own. The sequence usually looks like this: I pressed the power button, and the fans activated for roughly two seconds. Then the CPU indicator on the motherboard lit up, disappeared, and settled into VGA mode before staying there. My initial idea was to unplug everything and reconnect it, but nothing changed. I cleaned out as much dust as possible and reapplied thermal paste on the CPU, though this happened only about a tenth of the time. Once it finally boots, I can play Baldur’s Gate 3 at ultra settings for hours, then turn it off and it refuses to start again. I’ve tried accessing BIOS, but without a solid connection to the graphics card it won’t load at all. My motherboard model is B450M PRO-M2 MAX CPU Ryzen 7 3200 GPU MSI Radeon RX 5700 XT, paired with an EVGA 700w 80plus bronze PSU. I considered bringing it to a local shop for diagnostics before spending money, but before that, I checked the manuals hoping someone could assist. Could this be my motherboard failing or my power supply? Other components that stop working when I power on are the mouse and keyboard—both have RGB lights that turn on instantly. I also learned that humidity might be a factor, so I placed a dehumidifier packet inside the case, not touching any parts, just sitting at the bottom to test.
The dehumidifier packets offer limited benefit here. Regarding the issue, it seems to be related to the graphics card since the LED display only supports VGA. Would you like to try a different GPU for testing?
It seems like you're planning to handle this locally and are curious about the process. It's odd how sometimes it functions and other times it fails.
