Typical input comes from keyboard and mouse for general use, while an Xbox One controller is ideal for platformers, racing titles, and certain third-person experiences.
Gaming mouse and keyboard are available. I'm revisiting a joystack—this has been years. I have a Thrustmaster T1600m and CH pro throttle. I've spent hours moving the thrustmaster without much progress, often ending up going in random directions. It feels like a tempting option to just use a gamepad instead.
It's interesting how early replies overlook the forum rules. For me, HOMAS plus KB backup—Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, G700s and G15 (*cough* fanboy *cough*)—is what I need. I'm looking for a left-handed 3-axis joystick but using a right-handed one on my left side feels awkward.
I've relied on keyboard and mouse for SC, but I'm looking for something that leverages full 6DOF movement. I'm thinking about the 3Dconnexion SpaceNavigator or custom controller modifications. That would be ideal!
I rely on a mouse and keyboard, though much of my background is with the console users. I expect to get a dongle soon and switch to an older 360 controller since I’m more comfortable with it.
