@boghubodaghi There is a performance boost when using memory in dual channel mode. In a lot of applications and games, the performance increase can be up to 10-15%... again, same capacity, just 1 stick versus 2 sticks. It's even higher if you have a processor with integrated graphics, as dual channel nearly doubles the available bandwidth for the integrated graphics. It's OK and I sometimes recommend it, to buy a single 8 GB stick of memory, if user chose a budget motherboard with only 2 memory slots, but I almost always mention user should buy a 2nd stick as soon as possible, maybe at the next paycheck. Still, when possible, user should buy a motherboard with 4 memory slots or go from the start with the desired capacity.
