They keep reworking games that don’t need updating, which seems unnecessary. For instance, "Sleeping Dogs" had a remake that looked identical to the original PC version and ran smoothly on consoles. If players are ready to invest time in such a superficial update, why aren’t more titles like "Thief" or "Deus Ex" getting a fresh engine overhaul? Eidos Montreal could have ported Deus Ex to the new Human Revolution engine and it would have performed exceptionally well. It would have been a simpler solution than developing an entirely new game.

Since the sleeping dogs "remastered" version needed minimal effort and they’re mainly concerned with profits, it would demand far more than just an HD upgrade. It would necessitate rebuilding everything in the game from the ground up—player models, textures, physics, and so on. They might even prefer creating a completely new Deus Ex instead.

I should have updated the title to Eidos Montreal. I was considering something similar to the Resident Evil game remake—same experience but using a different engine and enhanced visuals. They preserved the essence of the original while improving graphics. It would be faster than a new Deus Ex release since they already have extensive assets like dialogue, design documents, concept art, models, audio effects, and more.

Certainly, there are many excellent mods available for the game, especially if you're looking for high-quality textures.

A fresh engine would also require updated models and similar changes. For instance, the remake of Resident Evil was reportedly 70% new content, making it essentially a brand-new title—perhaps a fresh game could be developed instead.

70% of the new content falls short of 100%. Did you understand the potential earnings from a quality remake of Deus Ex? I bet it would be more than a human revolution.

I was considering an alternative inspired by Deus Ex: The New Game. It would have saved a lot of effort if they had kept redoing Deus Ex: The Fallen alongside it.

Did you think Deus Ex: Original was better?
