I possess a bedrock server hosted on an additional machine. The issue arises when connecting with a different IP address—mobile data works fine, but joining via friends' connections fails with "can't connect to the world." On my local network it functions perfectly. I followed the provided tutorial and double-checked everything. My router2 links to router1, which is installed by my provider and connected to the ground via Firber. My server (an old HP Prodesk running Windows 10) is attached to router2. I only configured forwarding on router2 (Netgear model around that), but faced difficulties accessing its control panel from my iPad.
Ensure port forwarding is configured on Router 1 as well. Minecraft traffic must go from Router 2 to the server, which Router 2 then forwards to its own IP. This setup leads to a "double NAT" scenario, complicating network management beyond what’s necessary.
It functions smoothly on your Farming Simulator 22 server without using the port forwarder on router1. No special app is needed—just your iPad and Safari. The connection seems slow, as you reported, so try restarting the router or checking the port settings.
Chance might be on your side, but the ISP router could have a port forwarded for the game you're playing.
