Hey there! I reviewed some old data from when I adjusted my 3800x manually. Back then I didn’t note the stock voltage, but at full stock I scored 4886 with a temp of 73°C. I kept everything consistent but undervolted it to 1.2V. Performance dropped by about 4568 points, and max temp fell to 56°C on a 240mm AIO. I even pushed it to 4.4Ghz at 1.2875V for a score of 5102, but the temperature stayed at 68°C. That’s quite a drop of 5°C under load from 3.9 to 4.4Ghz. Anyone had similar experiences? I’m now using PBO with AutoOC and seeing load temps hovering between 70°C and 75°C during long gaming sessions.

Using offset voltage is beneficial in PBO, and adjusting it further can help speed up performance.

I'm not sure every BIOS supports PBO offsets, so your board might not have it. It mainly increases the upper frequency PBO can achieve. For example, a 3700x chip can reach up to 4.4GHz, but adding a 100MHz offset brings it to 4.5GHz, aligning with the 3800x model. Of course, PBO performance is also affected by temperature and silicon quality; on lower-end CPUs the offset might have little impact.

Hey, let me review your bios carefully. It seems your AutoOC is configured for a high frequency—probably around +400Mhz or similar—but you might have missed the exact value. It appears the adjustment is mainly aimed at increasing output rather than lowering voltage.
