I attempted to push my i7 9700K to 5.0GHz but faced several failures until I switched from XMP II to XMP. The system started working, though. I have DDR4 2400 RAM and a Z390-E motherboard. I'm concerned about the frequency shown in CPU-Z since it seems double my RAM's stock speed. I'm worried about damaging my RAM or motherboard. Can anyone confirm these numbers are safe? Okay cool so nothing to worry about I'm guessing. Also, why do you think I couldn't overclock with XMP II but I could with XMP? Is my RAM just not supported with XMP II or something? Plan on increasing to 5.1 GHz if my system stays stable as is for the next few days and I'm not sure if it matters which XMP profile I'm using. If this is a stupid question I apoligize as this is my very first time overclocking lol.
