Hello everyone, I've been experiencing frequent internet drops. I contacted my ISP who confirmed everything looks good and the router is functioning properly. In my home, I use a Velop mesh network and powerline adapters for my main workspace (office and gaming). The ISP suggested that these adapters might be triggering the router to restart, which could explain the disconnections. Their advice is unclear—should I be blaming them or can I take steps to prevent this? Thanks in advance.

Have you tested using a power line adapter directly connected to the modem? Would that produce identical outcomes?

I've been using Powerline adapters for a couple of months to boost my WiFi range by connecting another router through them. So far, everything has worked perfectly—no problems encountered. It would be helpful to explore further. Could these adapters also support passthrough? If so, is the router connected directly to the adapter? Is the router plugged into an extension lead? Might there be an issue with the router or the power cable itself? How are the Powerline adapters linked together? Are they functioning correctly? If you go through basic checks and still can't resolve the issue, contact your ISP and request a technician. They might need to inspect the router for faults.

Powerline adapters have generally been reliable bar a blip now and then (once or twice a year). They played the whole 'there will be a call out charge if we find our line and router are OK" card and definitely made it sound like it was something at my end. I just wish I knew one way or the other as it's getting to be a frustratingly regular occurrence.

Yeah, I think that's true. They mentioned I had multiple gadgets connected, but now it seems like everyone uses smart home tech, phones, tablets, and more these days!
