These new AIO radiator fans produce high noise when operating in PWM mode.
Yesterday I received a brand new custom-built gaming PC. It comes with an AIO and the cooling fans sounded pretty loud when it first turned on. The motherboard is a Gigabyte B550 Gaming X V2, and checking the BIOS showed a big drop in RPM when switching from PWM to Voltage mode. The fans use a 4-pin connector and are meant to work with PWM control. I tried tweaking the fan curve in PWM mode to reduce noise, but the BIOS still reports around 1300 RPM, which falls to about 800 when in Voltage mode. The radiator is linked to SYS_FAN_1 instead of CPU_OPT. Anyone have tips for getting the fans to function properly in PWM mode? This seems like a typical setting, but I'm curious about the specs.
