I created a fresh setup about a month ago. The 7900X, ASUS B650E Strix with DDR5 6000MT RAM came with a price tag that felt steep compared to past purchases. I acquired an ASUS X470 Crosshair VII in 2018 for roughly £240, which seemed like a solid mid-range option. The B-series 650E I recently bought cost £350. There were X670E models available at the same rate, but after digging deeper I realized the B-series offered exactly what I required—so I decided a higher-end B-series would likely outperform a cheaper X-series board. The motherboard includes a debug segment-LED, which normally costs around £600 for an X-series; this was a surprise since my X470 had that feature already. Regardless...tolerating those high prices...I expected a reliable platform. I’d been using an add-in PCIe card for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, though I hadn’t planned to buy a board with built-in connectivity. Most boards now include it, so I kept the extra card out. I rely on Ethernet instead, using Wi-Fi as a backup, and Bluetooth only occasionally. Everything worked until I needed clear audio for calls. I relied on Windows Phone Link for texting and other tasks, thinking I could repurpose my PC as a Bluetooth headset. When setting it up, the sound came through the PC but was choppy—utterly unusable. I checked the antenna placement, swapped it, tried a different TP-link USB dongle, but the issue persisted. Eventually, I resolved it by switching to a SAS-to-SATA HBA card and turning off the built-in SATA ports. ...What’s the point of adding features if they don’t function as intended? Have others faced similar hiccups with included functions? Thanks for reading my complaints.
It seems there might be an issue with your hardware or software. The SATA ports and Bluetooth function properly on your X670E board, unlike other devices you've used before.
