I’m dealing with a recurring problem where leaving the PC on for extended periods causes it to shut down, and the GPU drivers stop functioning properly. When I restart the game, FPS drops significantly—only 10-20 compared to normal 120+. I’ve tested various drivers, updated them, and even performed a fresh Windows install, but issues persist. After trying different options, I’m back to AMD and using the 7800XT now. It requires restarts for drivers to work, and sometimes I need a full reinstall. The GPU sits on a riser with PCIe 4 by 16x slots. I’m weighing a MOBO replacement but it’s built into the Lian Li A4-H20, making disassembly difficult. Upgrading to AM5 is an option, though I’m concerned the problem might not resolve and a faster CPU won’t help much. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

They didn't mention storage when discussing your specs. It's possible your motherboard is the issue, but RAM or your SSD could also be responsible. The best way to determine which part is faulty is to move it to another computer and see how it performs. If everything works fine, the problem is likely the motherboard. If you can afford an upgrade to AM5, now might be a good time. You'll have the opportunity to fix your AM4 system later while enjoying the benefits of AM5 during regular use. Good luck!
