It seems this board likely lacks a standard M.2 heatsink. ASRock often releases variations with minor differences, sharing the same core PCB but changing names. There may be other versions using those slots, positioned ideally for an M.2 cooler.

Speed holes improve performance by about 3% per hole. I attempted to install one myself, but it failed to boot. The main issue is that this board is designed for various models with different parts, using mounting holes for heatsinks or plates that enhance the premium look of higher-end units. It's typical in manufacturing to reduce tooling costs by sharing setups across similar SKUs.
