Cards aren't important; you receive them for random activities such as joining Steam events or buying items during promotions. Obtaining a full set can earn you a badge, or you might sell them to others.

Yep Witcher 3 with DLCs is the top pick for me, beating Planescape Torment. Civ5 is also a good deal lately. I don’t think Farcry has any appeal in my view. I can’t provide details on the other titles you mentioned because I haven’t played them.
