I've been using an ASUS B660i STRIX with a 12700KF for a few years, and now I'm experiencing issues after installing a 14900KF. There are no lights on, only one fan spinning and the system not responding. The BIOS says it's supported, but I'm unsure if there was a problem with the CPU itself. It's really confusing.

Very likely the problem lies with the motherboard. I’ve assembled many PCs and boards, but RAM often fails right away. Before swapping parts, double-check that all cables and wires are firmly connected at their destinations.

It seems you're wondering why a motherboard problem might exist even though you're using it with an older CPU. This could be due to compatibility issues, outdated drivers, or hardware limitations that aren't immediately obvious.

Possible issues could stem from CPU DOA, RMA, or an alternative device. Verify BIOS to eliminate leftover/old configurations.
