Hi there, sorry if it sounds confusing. I’m just starting out with building custom PCs. I ordered the components online, had them assembled at a local store, and picked them up today. The front three fans—F140 RGB Core Fans—were included in the case. I also got a Nzxt h7 flow cooler. When I turned on the system, the front fans were running extremely loudly. My CPU cooler is a Cooler Master ML360L ARGB V2. I checked the BIOS, adjusted the fan temperatures and speeds, but nothing changed. I was using PWM mode as shown online. After some research and reading the manual, I think the issue might be that the fans are 3-pin and they’re conflicting with the 4-pin CPU cooler. I’m not sure what to do next. PCs don't have such issues. You'll likely need to switch from "PWM" to "DC" in the BIOS settings, since the fourth pin is missing and it controls the fan speed. Adjusting the DC voltage will let you change the speed accordingly.

Only adjust the header settings for the case fans connected to them, ensuring the CPU fan stays on PWM. You may also wish to modify the fan profile or define a custom curve—performance mode could speed up the fans. Personally, I use FanControl; it lets me create separate curves for the bottom fan using GPU temps and another for the top based on CPU temps. The exhaust curve monitors both CPU and GPU to decide when to increase power. It can be confusing at first since the exhaust curve draws data from both curves but offers great flexibility.

The three-pin fans require DC fan control, while the four-pin fan needs PWM fan control. Otherwise, they may operate at irregular speeds or run at maximum power.

If not managed properly, air turbulence inside the case can raise temperatures and trigger the system to increase fan speeds automatically.
