I expect the 400 series to receive Zen 3 support eventually, depending on board partners. It seems likely we'll see new boards labeled with "Ryzen 4000 compatible" stickers soon, possibly before the Ryzen 4000 series is released. Some partners might still have a few 400 series chips in stock.

Unlikely. 400 series only backs Ryzen 4000 through a beta BIOS, and it will stop supporting most other CPUs. Flashing to the beta BIOS requires proof.

They probably won’t hesitate to ship a board with Zen 3 built-in right out of the package.

Maybe not. However, I might be mistaken.
