Someone mentioned that earlier in the conversation. Placing it at the top of the thread might make you appear more like a fanboy compared to others. They seem to agree with that.

CPU models from K are available for manual overclocking. If you don't intend to do it, it's probably not worth getting.

The peak performance is limited by the CPU's maximum speed on a single core, provided temperatures and power support it when required.

In theory boost has a time cap, but most good gaming cards let you set it to unlimited, so you can keep performance high all day as long as cooling works. This isn't seen as overclocking and doesn't need a K processor—only activates when the clock speed hits a certain limit per core. For instance, the typical MCE which lets all cores run at full speed together only one at a time is treated as overclocking.

The issue has already been addressed. However, the K chips are categorized at a slightly higher bin and are now unlocked.

Creating a reliable "stable" clock is challenging, so they often opt for lower frequencies like 100 MHz instead of 3.5 GHz. Phase lock loops (PLLs) help enhance stability by adjusting it, and the multiplication factor can be adjusted using K-series chips.

Intel’s best value right now seems to be their i5 series chips under 4th generation... But overall they’re struggling except for specific needs like legacy PCI or older cooling solutions. If you’re okay with a B460 and an AM4 cooler, going for the i5-10400F makes more sense. It’s only worth it if you really want those components or have a compatible setup.

It seems this purchase might not be the best idea. The price is extremely low, but quality is questionable. Consider opting for a better alternative instead.

That's interesting... We should burn them before they start laying eggs and multiplying! 10600 is pretty cool if you want an iGPU too... They seem to include Intel non-K options even though some sites claim otherwise.
