Thermaltake 3.9 LCD display package - MicroUSB to USB 2.0 connection kit
I received the thermaltake 3.9 LCD screen kit for my new TR100, which claims compatibility with all their cases. However, it arrived with a standard micro USB connector instead of the angled version needed for the TR100 case. I need a microusb cable compatible with USB 2.0 to connect it, and I noticed the kit only has four pins for the USB header. It’s unclear if using a five-pin cable would be safe or affect the screen’s performance.
It should work fine. The USB Type-A 2.0 only uses four pins. I’m not very familiar with it, but the “ID” pin on the micro seems reserved for specific cases. Probably, since you’re mentioning a MicroUSB to USB2 header cable, you can simply remove or modify the extra pin. It’s best to check the original pin layout first and copy it accurately.
