I own an Aspire 3 A315-23 equipped with a Ryzen 5 3500U (no dedicated GPU). I'm looking to swap the original thermal paste for a high-quality alternative that offers durability and significant temperature reduction. Considering options, Gelid GC Extreme stands out due to its thicker consistency compared to other pastes, unlike the less suitable Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. I won't be using liquid metal either. For comparison, my current setup is an Acer Aspire 3 (AMD Ryzen 5-3500U) running Windows 11 Home with 8GB RAM and a 512GB SSD, featuring a 39.6 cm display.

It's true you won't make any mistakes with the GC Extreme. For a more personal choice, Arctic MX-4 works well. Thermal pads are often used in laptops for cooling chips—though sometimes they're replaced with thermal paste for the CPU. If your system is old, a thorough clean might help; consider taking it apart to remove dust from the fins.
