Could you clarify the placement of the thermal pads? Are you fabricating a tailored heat spreader, reinstalling an existing one, or addressing another aspect of the design?

Pretty sure those just use thermal tape, no thermal paste. Why'd you take the heat spreaders off in the first place though? Also make sure to quote so we get a notification.

Intended to apply thermal pads, not glue them down. Mistake made. If you truly need a thermal pad, choose the thinnest available, as standard thermal tape is around 0.3mm thick. It doesn’t significantly improve performance. Heat spreaders have little impact regardless, and running them bare is ineffective. Opt for a custom heat spreader from a supplier like Bitspower if you want better thermal management, especially when pushing memory hard—such as over 1.6V on Hynix 16Gb A dies.
