Thermal margin
Thermal margin
You're looking for the right method to get an accurate CPU temperature on AMD systems. The standard approach uses overdrive settings with a thermal margin, and the formula is (max temperature) minus (thermal margin) equals the current temperature. For an AMD 10xx series like the A10 6800K, the max temp is around 74°C. If your thermal margin shows 31°C at load, subtracting gives 43°C. This discrepancy might happen if the margin value isn't being applied correctly or if the system's reporting differs from expectations. Double-check your monitoring tool and ensure it reflects the correct thermal limits.
