Internet speed fluctuates unexpectedly across all devices. Observed shifts include longer ping times, increased latency, and slower loading speeds. Notable trends are higher LoL times, extended video buffering, and delayed playback. It seems YouTube experiences even greater delays, possibly due to local buffering. Troubleshooting steps could involve checking gateway performance and network stability.

Check if this happens on a wired or wireless setup. Perform a speed test and note the ping and speeds. Execute a trace route to Cloudflare via the command prompt and share the results. Proceed with a trace route to the game servers to identify any ping spikes.

The link is physically connected. Initial speed test showed a 374ms ping, later measurements stabilized near 27ms. Tracert reported a LoL server in Europe with IP 104.160.141.3.

It looks like their network capacity is strained and the ASR9K devices are likely applying significant QoS measures to manage bandwidth usage, ensuring essential traffic gets priority. I’d still share your ISP the traceroute data, which might help them diagnose the issue further. Edit: Initially I misunderstood the traceroute results—I thought the first hop was the main source of delay, but it seems latency is mainly from the initial hop, with other hops also performing poorly, particularly if you’re in Austria where congestion is likely high.
