There seems to be some confusion regarding GPU usage in Battlefield 2042.
Hello guys,I have one,for me,weird problem:
My pc specs:
GTX 1660
I5 7500
16Gb @2400
strix b250g
I know my cpu doesnt meet minimum req for bf2042,but its just for the slightest,i5 6600k also have 4c/4t and even lower clock than 7500.Problem is that game is in all possible situations running at around 30fps no matter what resolution or or quality preset. My cpu usage is always 100% while gpu is around 50%. Looks like cpu is doing all the work while gpu is just here and there to support it.
I made sure that everything is running strictly on gpu and checked everything in nvidia control panel. Now If you want to say that this is normal performance and my cpu is bottleneck, fine, but how do you explain all this with same fps across different resolutions and settings.
And I know battlefield isnt optimised but still...
😉
Not much at all. The first Battlefield 2042 is a game that relies on CPU performance, and with a high player count it becomes more fragile. I have a 9700K and a GTX 1070, play in QHD, and this is the first time I realized my computer feels outdated. I experienced the lowest FPS ever I've seen, under 60.
30 frames per second? Vsync. You don’t have a system capable of reaching 60 FPS, so 30 FPS is the next improvement. Disabling Vsync should make it drop.
If your CPU stays at full capacity, that’s likely the issue. The only solution is to upgrade your CPU.
The VSync remains disabled, yet the audio still maintains a smooth 30 frames per second across resolutions of 1920x1080 and higher.
