I’m currently playing on a machine with a 3070 and a Ryzen 9 5900. Every game runs smoothly, okay? Assassins Creed Odyssey is one I’ve recently started. It’s performing well at around 25 frames per second. This is true whether graphics are low or high, which made me wonder if the CPU was limiting performance. But my 5900 isn’t showing any bottleneck issues, so I’m puzzled about what might be wrong. Other observations: pressing F1 in the game displays FPS and CPU/GPU usage. My CPU is around 70-80%, while the GPU is only at 40-45%. Also, I’ve turned off VSync and G-Sync in both the game and the NVIDIA control panel. Still, this game keeps capping at about 30 FPS.

Did you verify the real performance metrics? Make sure it isn’t just hitting the maximum number of cores the game relies on. Also, remember that 80% CPU utilization is essentially full capacity.

The system runs with 12 cores and 24 threads. When the game uses just 4 cores, around 30% is reasonable. How much are you using per core? Open Task Manager, go to Performance, CPU section, click the graph, and switch it to "logical processors."
