Hey! Recently I've been playing Rainbow Six Siege and sometimes I get stuck because of unexpected freezes. If I try to move, it pulls me back instantly. Usually I play with friends in a Discord group, but when we chat, everyone pauses for a few seconds, then only a few people speak at a time. It feels like the whole conversation freezes. When that happens, I get kicked out, which is frustrating. On other games like PUBG, it works the same way—Discord stops talking, but I can still move. I think it might be related to my internet connection or Ethernet setup. Thanks!
Hey there, sorry for the connectivity hiccup. It seems like a problem between your modem and the internet rather than between your router and the Ethernet cable. Probably not too deep to guess—there are some simple checks we can run using free tools. Give GPing a try; it visualizes network loss by IP address: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gping/files/.
Start with basic pings to your gateway (find it via the guide: https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Find_Your_Gateway_IP). Then test to Google’s DNS server at 8.8.8.8. If you notice heavy loss there and not at your gateway, it might point to your ISP—consider sharing this info and seeking their assistance.
