Frequently, when I move files, images, videos, and even shortcuts, this occurs:
What you observe is me using the mouse pointer to drag files. Over time, the file vanishes from the pointer, which stops me from dragging videos to upload on Youtube or pictures to websites for uploading.
Why?

consider using a different mouse, perhaps the button on the mouse is malfunctioning

The mouse is fairly recent Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse 2.0. It shouldn't have major issues with the left button.

There are several possibilities to consider:
- Test the mouse on another machine and check if the problem repeats, which would indicate a faulty mouse
- Uninstall drivers for the mouse in Device Manager, restart your computer, and verify if the issue remains
My guess is you might still have a defective mouse even if it's new, as this isn't uncommon

Does this concern happen with other applications or games when trying to click while holding the mouse button and moving it? If you're unsure, it might help to use another mouse for testing.

There is a strong likelihood the issue lies with the mouse, since pressing it lightly doesn't cause problems but pressing hard does.

A possible mouse issue has been identified. Are you encountering similar problems in other applications or games when clicking and holding the mouse while moving it? If uncertain or unable to verify, consider using a different mouse to determine if the issue continues.

The issue didn't occur in DOS games and programs using Dosbox.
However: The problem actually lay with the mouse, which I have updated and it resolved.
