Hello. ten days ago my computer restarted unexpectedly without any reason, and after some troubleshooting I discovered it was due to a loose 24 power cable connected to the PSU side. When I tightened it, the issue resolved, but afterward a buzzing sound comes from the PSU whether it's under load or idle. Additionally, there is an unusual chopping noise from the HDD, and the Sentinel monitor shows 100 percent usage. The loose cable likely caused random restarts or possibly contributed to coil whine. Could this be another problem? Should I replace the PSU? The buzzing is quite bothersome.

It seems like a coil whine is present. It might also resemble an HDD write sound or be caused by vibration resonance from the HDD. If the issue bothers you, consider switching the power supply unit. Otherwise, you can tolerate it. Alternatively, boost white noise in your space so the coil whine blends with it (for example, by running case fans at higher speeds).

You're asking about the connection between random restarts and coil whine, as well as the purpose of a loose 24-pin cable. The issue likely stems from the coil whine being triggered by electrical noise or interference during unexpected power cycles. A loose 24-pin cable can contribute to this by allowing more electrical interference to enter the system.
